I love food, I love nutrition and I am fascinated with how we can make ourselves feel better, just by changing what we eat.

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.

― Hippocrates

My interest in food started at school, mainly because of my skills in the sciences and home economics. I did shadowing at local hospitals and loved it so much that I ended up completing my first nutrition degree in 2003.

During my studies I was involved in a TV series and several public events (e.g. BBC Fat Nation, The Clothes Show Live) as a nutrition consultant, where I was on-hand to offer nutrition consultations to the public as well as do live presentations on stage.

I loved what I had learnt so far in my studies about functional nutrition and the biochemistry of the human body, but I wanted more.

I spent several months working at our local NHS trust in the Dietetics department, where I ran nutrition courses for the medical staff and helped the dietitians with simple jobs.  In 2006 I had completed my second BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics, thus allowing me to prescribe nutrition plans/supplements to inpatients and outpatients. I absolutely loved my job. I worked in the areas of surgery, critical care and oncology, plus I had 2 weekly outpatient clinics where I saw patients with a variety of nutrition-related issues, such as diabetes, obesity, bariatric surgery, allergies/ intolerances, Crohn’s disease, IBS, Coeliac disease, paediatric patients, eating disorders, fish odour syndrome… name it and I have probably seen it!

Then in 2009 I moved to Switzerland to be with my now amazing husband.  This meant a complete change in my career as my German was nowhere near good enough to work in a hospital environment. After 8 months of networking, meetings and planning I began working for a premium health club in Zürich as the lead on rolling out a nutrition service for the company. I developed the nutrition service and packages, created products to sell and recruited the expert teams. We then began a pilot of nutrition services for the Swiss clubs, and after a few months I was the European Nutrition Manager for the company and I was supporting the roll-out of nutrition departments in Austria, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic and also liaising with the departments in Greece and Israel. I was responsible for driving the business, managing the teams & products, providing articles for magazines, online content and proposing business plans to the Executive Committee and CEO.

Then in 2012, another twist of fate, I fell pregnant with identical twin boys. Life changed.
I continued to work for 1 year after the boys were born, but then at the end of 2014 I realised that my own health was suffering (ironically my diet and a lack of exercise) so I chose to end my employment and focus on family. This is when I started this page.

In 2017 I contributed to a baby food/weaning recipe book (Baby Food Universe).

I now work with private clients as well as seeing high profile clients at a luxury rehabilitation clinic in Zurich. I have delivered nutrition presentations at the FIFA headquaters in Zurich as well as for numerous large companies that wanted to invest in their employee’s health.

I love discovering new foods, creating recipes and sharing what I learn with others. I hope you love my page and find it a go-to resource for your own healthy lifestyle needs.
